The three places for the Seven Lucky Gods pilgrimage in Asakusa include Hashiba Fudoson. Hashiba Fudoson, although a bit distant from Sensoji Temple, is within walking distance.
It enshrines Fudo Myo-o and Hotei Bosatsu. Fudo Myo-o is one of the guardian deities revered in Japanese Buddhism. He is depicted with an angry visage and is believed to conquer evil forces and obstacles, protecting believers. Fudo Myo-o is often associated with fire, symbolizing the power of fire to purify and eradicate evil. Devotees pray to Fudo Myo-o for protection and call him affectionately “Ofudo-san.”
Hashiba Fudoson is a small temple with impressive lanterns on both ends of the main hall, which adds to its charm. Please note that the office where you can obtain temple stamps (Goshuin) closes at 4 PM, so be mindful of the timing.
