In the vicinity of Matuchiyama Shoden, there is Imado Shrine, a power spot known for matchmaking and improving one’s love life. Many single individuals visit here, making it a popular spot in Asakusa.
Additionally, Imado Shrine is said to be the birthplace of the Maneki-neko, or beckoning cat. The Maneki-neko is a figurine of a cat with its right paw raised, beckoning with an inviting gesture, believed to bring luck and prosperity in business. Inside the shrine, you’ll find numerous Maneki-neko statues. Why not try searching for them yourself?
Furthermore, Imado Shrine is said to be the place where Okita Souji, the captain of the Shinsengumi during the final days of Japan’s Edo period, met his end.
