Behind Senso-ji Temple, near the Sumida River, you’ll find the Matsuchiyama Shoden. Personally, I highly recommend this temple. The main hall of Matsuchiyama Shoden is located atop a small hill, and for wheelchair users or elderly individuals with mobility issues, there is a free monorail from the parking area.
As you ascend the stairs, you’ll encounter a beautiful gate. Be sure to bow before passing through it. To the left of the gate, there’s a gift shop.
In the gift shop, you can purchase daikon(white radish) radishes for offerings. At Matsuchiyama Shoden, daikon radishes, along with small bags, serve as symbols: the bag represents prosperous business, while the daikon symbolizes good health, marital harmony, and the flourishing of one’s descendants.
Further ahead from the gift shop, you’ll encounter another set of stairs. Ascending them leads you to the main hall.
Inside Matsuchiyama Shoden, you’ll find a profoundly sacred atmosphere, allowing for relaxation of both mind and body.
